FALEX TIMKEN

One of the oldest and the first commercially available tester (1935) for evaluating load carrying capacity of extreme pressure lubricants.  Contrary to the Four Ball test, this system uses a line contact with moderate contact pressures to evaluate the scoring limit of oils and greases.

A rotating steel bearing race (“cup”) runs at ~800 rpm against a stationary steel block under increasing load conditions until a score mark appears; the load just before scoring is the OK Load.
