FALEX MILLER SLURRY ABRASION

The Falex Miller Slurry Abrasion machine is a lab tester conforming to ASTM G75 that slides a loaded specimen in a controlled slurry to rank how abrasive the slurry is and how resistant materials are to it. Miller Number (MN) represents the abrasivity of the slurry using a standard reference block. SAR Number gives the abrasion resistance index of a material in any given slurry. D2 Number: the newest standardized abrasivity index added in the 2024 revision of G75

Typical applications : Comparing process slurries and picking pump/pipe/liner materials in mining, dredging, and transport in production lines.  Now broadly used for any slurry-wear problem. (Rule of thumb in G75: values ≲50 tend to be pumpable with limited damage.)
